Annette Rafferty Survive to Thrive Fund (ARST)
Named after the founder of Abby’s House, the Annette Rafferty Survive to Thrive Fund (ARST) was established in 2000 to provide women with the funds they need to meet their goals, deal with an emergency, or enhance their quality of life. The ARST Fund provides Abby’s House with a discretionary pool of money with which we help women in the face of unexpected or increased expenses or bills, for example, car repairs, or with one-time expenses they cannot cover such as the security deposit on an apartment. Funds can also be used to help a women increase her level of self-sufficiency by paying for a class or obtaining certification to secure a better-paying job.
The Fund is used to help women who would otherwise lose an opportunity to advance their goals or improve the quality of their life, and helps us respond to both emergencies and planned needs. On average, we are able to help 35-50 women with the $12,000 – $15,000 we raise for the Fund each year. On average, however, we receive $25,000 worth of requests for assistance.
If you would like to make a contribution to the ARST Fund, please contact Sarah Lange by calling (508)-756-5486 extension 18 or email sarah@abbyshouse.org. You may also use the orange donation button to the right, and please write "ARST" in the description line.

Social Networking Matters
We’re not just updating our status; we’re
building a network of people who can help.
We use social networking to send out
calls for action. When we need help —
extra baked goods, winter coats for the
kids in our shelter, or volunteers to help
cook a meal (when we’re short-handed)
— can we turn to you?
